10th Annual Awareness and Fun day for children with Disabilities:Kampala

OVERVIEW

The Annual Awareness and Fun Day is a one day event aimed at bringing together children with special needs and their families, like-minded organisations, friends and well wishers, in order to,

  1. Raise awareness,
  2. Celebrate different abilities,
  3. Increase participation of children with disabilities in sports and other fun activities,
  4. Improve visibility and awareness about available services for children with disabilities,
  5. Create a platform for stakeholders interaction, that hopefully will reduce stigma and neglect of children with disabilities.
  6. Improve access to services, strengthen referral pathways and improve participation and inclusion of children with disabilitIes

AWARENESS DAY! WHAT HAPPENS

  1. Awareness March
  2. Medical Camp: This will include; General health checks and specialized clinics for children living with Spina Bifida, Hydrocephalus, Epilepsy, Hypertension and Diabetes.
  3. Exhibition space for services, such as, schools that have inclusive programs and medical centres/ organisations where we can access assistive technology.
  4. Presentations, Fun Activities and Food to Eat
