Refugees settlement Yumbe district at Wajiji primary school zone 1
The situation of homeless families in Yumbe District, Bidibidi refugee camp, other refugee communities is dire in west Nile, Uganda. In the settlement, a number of challenges faced; however, the alarming school dropout cases among the adolescent teenage girls as arising from the demand for basic fundamental girl-child needs is a call we are rising up to address. Our target being adolescent girl age bracket of ten years (10) to twenty three (24 years of age ; as is associated with financial challenges to acquire these basic fundamental needs of a teenage girl putting in mind the incapability to acquire these demands regards to limited resources that subject them to giving in for sex at such early ages to find solutions to their provisional demands; in the process, we wouldn’t wish it be taken as an obvious case to have such communities register early school dropout cases, this may make the young innocent girls victims to sexually transmitted diseases, early marriages, sexual violence and thus ignorantly leading to a dead end of lives.

The need to address the above mentioned issues affecting the adolescent girls; not forgetting the need for good and safe water, sanitary implications as well, is one call for Girls Life Line Organization partner with community and others to stand save the future of these innocent and deeply crying-inside girls; by supporting them under these challenges as we engage them to planned long term strategies and solutions to these issues.
At Girls Life Line Organization, we believe life basic skill mentorship, education and employment are the most effective, long-term solutions to ending realized adolescent girl issues in the areas we have visited and assessed especially in refugee and Rural communities in Uganda and East Africa.
